Buying a dental practice looks simple. It rarely is.
The questions most buyers forget to ask, and why they matter more than the price tag
Hi there,
Someone messaged me last week absolutely convinced they'd found "the one." Great location, decent chair count, seller keen to sell. She wanted to know if she should just get on with it.
I asked her three questions. She couldn't answer any of them.
That's usually how it goes. People fall for a practice the way you fall for a flat with good light and pretend the damp patch in the corner isn't there. Except here the damp patch is things like inflated patient numbers, staff who are one bad Tuesday away from quitting, or a lease that's about to turn into someone else's problem, namely yours.
I made a video about exactly this. What buying a dental practice actually involves once you get past the estate agent style pitch, the questions that matter far more than the asking price, and a few real mistakes I've watched buyers make that took months to undo.
