⏰ Owner, Not Operator. Who Pays You When You're Not in the Chair?
A slightly rude question, and an evening in London that answers it.
Hi there,
Let me ask you something slightly rude.
Take your hands off the handpiece for a month. Not a "holiday" where you check the appointment book from a sun lounger. A proper month away. What happens to the money?
For most owners I speak to, the answer comes with a nervous laugh. The income drops, the diary wobbles, and someone rings on day three about the autoclave.
That isn't owning a practice. That's owning a very expensive job with your name above the door.
Nobody mentions this at dental school, but there's another way to build it. In an associate led practice, the clinical work is done by a team you've recruited and kept. The profit comes from the business running properly, not from you working a full list and doing the paperwork on Sunday night.
Smita and I built The Neem Tree Dental Group this way. On Wednesday 14 October, we're spending an evening in Central London showing a room of owners exactly how it works.
It's called Owner, Not Operator. Three hours, a drink in your hand, and the whole model laid out: the structure, the numbers, the associates, and the admin that keeps you chained to the building.
It isn't a lecture. Nobody will make you sit through 47 slides. It's two people who've done it telling you what worked, what didn't and what it cost.
The details
Wednesday 14 October, 6pm to 9pm
Central London (venue shared when you book)
£75, drinks and nibbles included
Practice owners and principals only
Seats are limited, and I'd rather fill them with people who are properly tired of being the practice.
Speak soon,
Arun
